Susan Collins Hillsborough County Florida areaIf you’re like thousands of people in the Hillsborough County Florida area, you’re looking for a senior living, assisted living or memory care (dementia and Alzheimer’s) facility for yourself or a loved one because staying at home – often alone – is no longer possible, and you:

  • Feel alone and don’t know who you can turn to for advice you can trust. Perhaps you’ve already reached to the internet companies and found all they offer are lists.
  • Are unsure of the differences between assisted living and nursing homes, and which is right for you or your loved one.
  • Already have too much on your plate, and the last thing you need is more.
  • Don’t know how you will afford it and need to know your financial options and benefit programs.
  • Need help right away because of illness or injury.
  • Know that choosing the wrong place may have dire consequences now and in the future.

Many of our clients are sleep-deprived, anxious, worried and overworked with making a life-changing decision for themselves or their loved ones. Some are even pushed to the breaking point. Does that sound familiar? If so, you’re not alone and we’d like to help.

We get it because we’ve been there. And that’s why your Ask-Carol Advisor will work hard to lighten your load by offering you the kindhearted experienced support you deserve.

Your Ask-Carol Advisor is local and therefore has inside information on facility reputations, specialties, availability, and more, which will help you make the right decision.

We listen before we talk, then we’ll suggest senior or assisted living communities that meet your needs and budget.

It’s not a good idea to go it alone. Why try, when you can get expert help? Alone you will waste precious hours and very possibly choose the wrong place. That’s the last thing you need. 99.9% of our placements stick.

We’ll do more than help you find a place. We’ll also guide you on how to best manage emotional situations with your loved ones.

Other referral services can’t match us. We aren’t in it just for the money – we genuinely love helping families overcome difficult issues with aging loved ones who should no longer live at home.

Our help is always free. That’s right, you can take advantage of our expertise and experience, and you won’t pay a dime. We are compensated by our facility partners, much like an insurance or real estate agent.

You aren’t alone, and I’d like to help.

Hi, I’m Susan Collins of Hillsborough County, and I’m ready to help your family. I’m Carol’s Senior Advisor in the area. My journey began as a young adult when my 82 year old grandmother decided to move to Florida from Pennsylvania to be closer to our family. We were extremely close. She lived alone for several years and eventually made her own decision to move into an assisted living facility. It was perfect for her. She loved it and my family loved it for her.

Since that time we’ve faced a long-term illness with my step-father, my own serious health challenges, a terminal battle with cancer of my dearly loved brother, along with decisions for my own aging parents; I can clearly see how vital it is to have the right services in place for loved ones and yourself.

I had to seek out my own solutions and I empathize with those trying to make choices for care during deeply emotional times. I understand what families are facing.

I’d love to partner with you in finding the best answers for you and your loved ones.

You can reach me by filling out my contact form, or simply by calling me at 813-763-4311.

Dear Ask-Carol:

My Mom got very ill unexpectedly. After 32 days in the hospital, during which her leg was amputated above the knee, she was discharged to a rehabilitation facility. After her being in rehab for two months, they told us that Mom was unable to go home, and probably never would. I was devastated and with three children at home and a job, I couldn’t care for her.

I contacted you and that’s when things started to change. I do believe finding you was a blessing from above. I was at my wits end and wasn’t sure how to navigate the assisted living thing.

You were able to answer all my questions and call the places I was interested in to make sure they could accommodate my mom’s needs and wants. I know how your help made my experience a better one and can make anyone’s experience a better one.
